Hi Ruth,

Just wanted to drop you a note about the Vermillions...The 1833 tax records in Claiborne Co TN show that Lewis Wilburn closed neighbor was John Vermilion. My hunch is that there was some kinship between the Wilburns and Vermillions..simply because I have yet to see closest neighbors who were not allied in some fashion...The Wilburns were also allied with the Osbornes..And in scanning other Vermillion postings, and Osborne Vermillion was noted. Still, I have no idea of any Vermillions in my ancestral lines. I know that many families in Russell Co Va were related to those in Claiborne Co TN...I also know that the Vermillions were often in the same places as my own Wilburn ancestors...

At any event, I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for your interesting postings. Indeed, its a pleasure to read your well written, concise and also friendly postings.

Warm regards,

Vikky Wilburn Anders in San Diego.
