Hello Sharon;
You have a noble mission but one that
may be futile. The Vermillions were Huguenot
and therefore were executed or expelled from
Mother France. This happened around 1590. Family rumors are that only three brothers escaped. They went to Scotland, Ireland, and England. the first Vermillion to the colonies was Giles V at age 13 in 1698. Port of debarkation was Wales. Most of us in the US descended from him and his wife Jane Hutchinson. If you can find anything out, good luck. I had Vermillions leaving Southern France for Geneva under protection of a French Catholic Nobleman. I found that writen on the Armory wall in Genev'e Suisse
Bon Chance!
