I may have had a connection but I don't now. Sorry if I raised your hopes in vain.
There was a branch of this family who settled in the South starting with Samuel Vermillion born 1755 who was a civil war vet and lived in Rutherford SC. His son James B.
b. 1800 was in TN in 1850. I have never researched Samuel's family very well and it might be worth your while.
Samuel was a son of John Vermillion born 1711 who was the son of Giles Vermillion b. 1685 in Wales.
