I am a descendant of the Rockingham County Harrison family and have been researching them over 30 years. I checked out the marriage of Guy Vermillion to Sarah Jacobs who was previously married to Hancock Jacobs. That marriage had been transcribed as Hancock Jacob and Sarah Harmanson. I am convinced that is Harrison not Harmanson. Guy Vermillion was the son in law of William Harrison, his wife died before william and the Vermillion children inherited their mothers share. I am trying to find out if William Harrison lived in Prince George County, MD. and maybe went to Northampton County, VA. before NC. He evidently moved to North Carolina while Sarah was still married to Hancock Jacob. Maybe Hancock died and she married Guy Vermilion and they came to NC. She may have had children by Hancock Jacob also. Those were just deeds not the complete property settlement.
