My gr grandfather Peter Vermeulen (b. 18 Sep 1860 in Retranchement, Netherlands) came to Rochester, NY in 1883, per the 1905 census. I have never been able to find an immigration record on him nor an emigration record of him leaving the Netherlands, which is unusual. (The Dutch kept great records.) The only Dutch record I have been able to find for him is his birth record. Any ideas?
