Hello I am Ruth Jones from Kingston Ontario Canada my Grandmother Edith Annie Brown's Father was William Brown and his father was James Brown from Cupar Scotland. I know the de Vere's are involved because my grandmother's older brother has the name of Herbert John de Vere Brown. My Grandmothers GGrandparents or possible GGGrandparents came from France possible Normandy when there was an uprising in the late 1700's and changed their married name to Brown I think the GGrandfather or GG first name might have been Johann as first sons have the name John. They settled in Cupar Fife Scotland and were owners of a farm. We have always been told of the French and German ancesters and that the female side had Dukes and Ducheses if anyone can help me shed some light on this I would be much appreciative Thanks in advance my email is nanajones71@hotmail.com signed Ruth Jones
