I find the most convincing evidence intrinsic to his works. They are littered with de Vere references.Take becoming a Wild Boar (a de Vere Earl).Take the beginning of the sonnet "thou art thy mother's glass" (French Verre).Take aspiring to Rousillon (Rutland) as "one might as well aspire to the illustrious star above" (The silver Star, molet or mullet, of the Lord Chamberlain de Vere that still adorns the doors of the best actors and actresses. One could go on and on.As recommended in their prefaces, when "Venus and Adonis" and "The Rape of Lucrece" are taken together they are a strong incitement to bring down the Monarchy or move it to the dedicatee Henry Wriothesly (wrought on the sly) the Queen's bastard, Edward de Vere's son adopted by Southampton.Mostly compelling, the great "rhyme" that will according to the author "live forever" is blank verse in English but flawless poetry in Norman French.
