Hi, Debra--

I'm also researching the Huguenot refugees from France/Belgium in Kent (mine were GYLES/GILESes). SIR EDWARD GILES (of Devonshire) & wife BRIDGET VERY GILES (of Strood, Kent) came to Salem, Massachusetts in the early 1600s & SIR EDWARD (who I'm sure knew Fernando Gorges as they were both involved with the Massachusetts Bay Company) is somehow related to the GILESes of Kent & London--just trying to find out how.

I have found FOLLETTs in Kent. I have noticed that many surnames in Kent are also found in Devonshire. Go to Google and enter "FOLLETT genealogy in Kent, England" & see what you find.

Also, an ancestor of mine (JAMES GILES, b. 1692 in Piscataway, Middlesex Co., NJ) married a MARTHA GOULD , his second wife. His first wife was ABIGAIL MUNDY, whose ancestors were from London & Kent.

Kindest Regards,
MaryEllen Carson
