Martin- I am looking for a connection with the Vary (Very)families and Follet(t) families in the late 1500s and early 1600s. My ancestor Robert Follett b. circa 1625 (father unknown, may be a John) is listed on a lot index of a 1692 map of Salem, Massachusetts. Three other surnames are listed on this same large lot. They are Very, Meacham and Gould. This is in the same area where Bridget Very lived earlier on. One researcher states that a relative thought the Folletts were french hugenots. Others believe they were from Devonshire and the name had been corrupted from Foliot or Folliot. One branch of the Foliots were allies to Sir Ferdinando Gorges who as we know came to the New World in the early 1600s. A John Follett was in Dover, New Hampshire as early as 1640. Does anything ring a bell with the Verys?
