Sir Francis Vere (ca. 1560-1609)married Elizabeth Dent, daughter of John Dent, Gent. and Alice, on 26 Oct. 1607. Elizabeth was just past her 16th birthday when they married; Sir Francis, then about 47, had just completed a distinguished military career in the Low Countries. The best single source for Sir Francis is "The Fighting Veres," by Clements R. Markham (1888). Since the book is obviously long out of print, I would suggest you borrow a copy through your local library inter-library loan service (which is usually free) or you might be able to obtain it secind hand through the Internet (as I did). If you choose to buy it, try the following web site: bookfinder.com. This site is an amalgam of several used and rare book networks, including hundreds of vendors but with a single search engine. Best wishes.
