Hello! I'm researching the family of Maria Verde from Vico Equense, Napoli, Italia. She was married to Francesco Gargiulo (also from Italy) who settled in Summit (City), Union Co., NJ. I have her (age 28) arriving at Ellis Island on the "SS Konig Albert" August 1, 1907, accompanied by her three sons, Pasquale (age 6), Bernardo (age 4), and Francesco (an infant). These children were born in Naples. She was pregnant with 4th son, Umberto. She names her husband as Francesco Gargiulo, living at 11 Chestnut Street, Summit, NJ. In addition to the afore mentioned sons, there were three more sons: Carmine/Carmello, Enrico, & Mario and two two daughters: Mary & Teresa. I have them on the 1910, 1920 & 1930 Census in NJ. They are listed with "Americanized" names. Francesco was listed as: (1910) a shoemaker, (1920) a helper, and (1930) a gardener. Does anyone know who Maria "Mary" Verde Gargiulo's parents or siblings are? I would appreciate any assistance. Barb Selletti Notify Administrator about this message?
