A trader from the Canary Islands migrated to Venezuela abt 1750's... married Ana Teresa PONCE and fathered Jose Maria VARGAS 5th President of Venezuela born 1786 abt and died 1855 abt in NY. No other information I have about this family from Spain; VARGAS MACHUCA
I do know that there are hospitals named after this family and estates, schools and even a state.
