Ola, Me Llamo Joanna etienne. Vivo en Angleterra. Si me espanyol no es perfecto, lo siento He apprendido espanyol desde cinco meses solo y sola. (Does that make sense?)
Anyway, I am trying to find out about my great grandmother who was Venezuelan, not to sure whether she was actually born there or if it was just her parents. Anyway, my dad was called Joseph Etienne, he was born in 1930 and died in 1993, his father was called Cookman Etienne, Cookman was born to a French father, surname Etienne, don't know his first name but he was my great grandfather. My great grandfather sailed to the Commonwealth of Dominica,(not to be confused with Dominican Republic) and settled there. There he met and married my great gran who was Venezuelan, not sure though if she was born in Venezuela or Dominica, but her parents were definitely born in Venezuela, they would have sailed along the Orinoco river, to Dominica, during the time of the invasion of the Spanish. Many Venezuelans live in Dominica, but call themselves Caribs as this was the name given to them at the time. So if anyone is related to the french Etienne's or knows someone who is I would be grateful for your help, if you could help me determine the other side of my family, family name I would appreciate it.
