Ruth, I am a Venable descendant and was born and raised near Leeton, MO (Shawnee Mound). My maternal 2nd greatgrandfather, Louis R. Venable (b:1806, d:1897, m:Rebecca Young) settled near Leeton in 1858. They had 10 children, one being my greatgrandmother, Angeline Venable (m;Thomas A. Bradley). She and her parents are buried at the old Sardis Cemetery SE of Leeton. I have a good amount of Venable info that my first wife, Sheryl, collected during the seventies including a manuscript that takes the Venable line back to Abraham Venables I. It states he came to Virginia from England about 1685. Sheryl corresponded with Venable researchers all over the country including a Bob Wyatt in Leeton (desc of Abraham Banks Venable). I believe, from his letters, he was going to make up a book on the Venables. Do you know anything about that? I saw your other msg re Thomas Venable and see in the manuscript where they note there was a baptismal for Abraham Venables, son of Thomas Venables, on Feb 1, 1617 (from Gnosall Parish, Staffordshire, Eng.---not Devonshire). The MS doesn't include Thomas in the pedigree charts though. I would like to hear from you if and when you source the Thomas Venable connection and I'll work on it too. Well, I've made this quite long so better quit. Maybe we could compere notes sometime. Fred B.
