I happen to believe that Martha Davis (1702) is the daughter of Robert Davis and Abadiah Lewis also. But some books such as the Floyd's of Kentucky and Virginia say Nathaniel Davis and Elizabeth Hughes. To me the dates never quite fit. And I also believe that Robert Davis as he is usually referred to is really Nathaniel Robert Davis, Jr. He was called "The Black Davis" because of his black hair and dark eyes (which would come from his mother's side) to distinquish him from his fair haired and light skinned father. I try to keep all the informationthat I find from various books and other sources , plus what my great Grandmother Elizabeth Jane Davis would tell the other family members in my notes under Nathaniel Davis, Sr. (which I have seen referred to as Nathaniel Robert). The Edmund family history says that Robert and Abadiah were parents of Martha Davis also.
Chief Wahunsonacock (father of Cleopatra and Pocahontas and others) and Chief Opechancanough (husband and uncle to Cleopatra that he married and uncle to Pocahontas) were brothers. There is plenty of info to support this. There is one researcher that disagrees with this, as he says the Indians wouldn't intermarry.
How are you descended from Chief Wahunsonacock?
