Hi,
I don't know whether or not there's a family connection but lets see.I'm searching Alexander L. VENABLE in Limestone AL; b. abt 1927-1830(I think) in Alabama.
There is a marriage record for Alexander L. VENABLE and Mary M. MALONE 20JAN 1849 in Limestone.
There is a marriage record for Alexander L VENABLE and Lucinda WAGNER 17APR 1843 in Limestone.
There's a CSA Civil War soldier, A.L.VENABLE; 51st AL Regmt (Partisan Rangers) Co H; Private. Film #M374, Roll 46.
Alabama deaths 1908-1959 lists A.L. VENABLE 22JAN1916, County: Elmore; Vol 11, certificate #353, Roll #1.
I don't know if this is all for the same person or not??
I didn't find him in the 1850-1870 census in Limestone nor did I find him in Giles 1860 Census with Mary MALONE VENABLE (age 30, b. AL; one of the wives listed above); and Daug. Margaret E. VENABLE, age 7; b. TN.; father b. in ALabama. I can't determine if Alexander and Mary divorced, or he died, or just moved on. Mary married after the census in 1860 to Richard Benjamin Powell and later moved to Lawrence TN.
I have the documents for Mary Malone Venable and Margaret Elizabeth Venable from 1860 forward; if anyone needs this information just contact me.
There are Mary VENABLEs in 1850 Limestone census but don't think they match up. One record in Jackson AL, might fit; if that "L" middle initial for Alexander is supposed to be an "I":
Dist 19, Jackson AL 1850
Mary Venable,21 b. AL 1829
ISAAC VENABLE, 21 b. AL
1850 LIMESTONE AL, DIST #4
A.Y. VENABLE35, TN, 1815
Mary M. VENABLE, 23, TN 1827
JAMES M. VENABLE, 7, AL 1843
CHRISTOPHER C.6, AL 1844
ELIZABETH5, AL, 1845
JOHN,6MO; AL 1850
1870 Census, Franks, St. Francis, Arkansas:
A.L. VENABLE, age 32; b. Alabama
Antonio, 50; B. TN
Pauline age 12; b. AL
Do any of these pieces fit together?
Any connection to your VENABLEs?
I did find that some of the Limestone VENABLEs were born in Georgia; An Andrew Venable married to Elvira Mary, goes from Limestone to the Cherokee Nation in OK. I think he was married more than once. May have been innumerated in another Native American Group in Al or TN also.
