I am not related. Just attempting to help these photos find thei way home.
Ebay item number 200145924987 is described as:
Here are 3 old photographs of a family, identified with the surnames of Weest and Velie. There is a picture of a couple with the names Fred and Rita Weest written on the back. The second photo is of a man standing next to a house, with the name Geo. Weest written on the back. Next is a picture of a little boy with the name of Ernest Velie, Jr. on the back. I think that Ernest might have connections to the Weest family, because, on the back of Fred and Rita Weest's picture, someone had started to write the name Velie, then crossed it out. Someone had to have known both families to know both names. I did a little bit of research on this family, and found in the 1900 census for Rensselar Co. New York, there is a Frederick and George Weest, brohters living with parents William and Ann Weest. In 1920, I found the same family living in Albany, New York. I think this could be the same people as in the picture. I also found an Ernst Velie living in the same area with a son Ernst. The photographs themselves are in pretty good shape, George Weest's picture has a knick out of it at the bottom, and Fred and Rita Weest's picture looks like it had been in an old photo album, because of the way it looks on the back, doesn't take away from the picture at all. The picture of the little boy Ernest, is of the same kind of material as the picture of Fred and Rita, just a tad bit smaller. Who knows, perhaps these are your ancestors! I found my great grandparents wedding picture on Ebay, so anything is possible!
