Hi Ivelise,
My father was born in Cabo Rojo but had family in Mayaguez. I remember my father once telling me that his family was from Majorca,Spain. I believe it was his great grandfather that moved to PR. My father's family then came to NewYork in the mid-forties.They moved to the west side of Manhattan and some family members moved to the Bronx (I'm not sure where) Could there be a connection?
My grandmother's name was Ramona Ramirez and my grandfather's name was Alfredo Velez. My grandfather was married several times so the Velez's are many but scattered. I don't know alot my father's side of the family as my parents separated when I was 12 years old which was almost 40 years ago.-Nancy
