Hi,
My Grandpa is George Veit.
Note the "e" in George.
He immigrated to Chicago in the 30's.
My Father, Walter Joseph Veit is his only son, and I am one of his 5 children.
I understand that George's Father is Matthew.
My Grandfather lived in Chicago until 1945 and at that time moved to Littlefork, MN.
I can tell you much more about Georg"e" Veit,
but I am not sure that this is the correct person. My grandfather came from a large family, one brother and one sister also immigrated to the US. He has a sister named Katy Molner in Germany (alive??) and her daughter is Gerlinde Molnar. My grand father gave me this her address around 1985.

My Grandfathers Father is Matthew Veit.
I have just started tracing my lineage.
Please let me know if you know of Matthew Veit and/or the names of his children. I think he died in Germany around WWII, but he did not die as a solder. He had a missing limb, (arm or leg), so he may have served in WWI. He had at least 2 sons die in WWII, I do not know their names.
