Vedder as middle name of an aunt

The Vedder name is found as a middle name for my aunt Grace Vedder Paul, born 08/19/1873, died 11/20/1937. She was the eldset daughter of Hollis Brayton Paul and Adella Caroline Curtis. We do not believe the name came from Hollis' side of the family as we know quite a bit about it, but know very little about his wife's family. We suspect it was a family surname in her family. The family lived in Norwich NY when Grace was born.
