Seeking information on Elizabeth (Betsy) Vawter, w/o John Wyatt Thornton.
Betsy may have been the d/o Russell Vawter b 1755 and Mary Sparks Vawter and born in Culpepper Cty, VA. Betsy was born in 1780. Betsy may have been the grandd/o Richard Beverly Vawter and Frances Towles Vawter.
Betsy married John Wyatt Thornton who was b 1775, Brunswick Cty, VA, d after 1840 Wilkes Cty, GA. John Wyatt Thornton also was married to Agnes Paulette. I do not know which wife was first.
John Wyatt Thornton had four children: Richard Thornton; Francis Holcomb Thornton; Presley Lacy Wyatt Thornton b 1810; and Catherine Thornton b 1837.
If this Richard Thornton my g-g-grandfather, he would have been born probably in NC between 1790 and 1795. I am seeking information to determine if Richard was the son of Elizabeth Vawter Thornton.
Any help will be most appreciated.
