Who is she?

I visited my great-grandfather's grave this past weekend for the first time, and found a woman with the same last name buried right next to him. I do not have her anywhere in my research yet. Is it safe to assume she was his wife?

They are buried in the New Burlington Cemetery (also known as the Burlington Township Cemetery) in Burlington, MI. Their headstones read:

Asa L Vaughn
Pvt US Army
World War I
1897-1984

Autumn M Vaughn
1908-1977

Does anyone know who she was? (I have no records for Asa yet between 1935 and 1952, and between 1952 and 1984 when he passes away.)

Thank you for any help you can provide.
