James Vaughn who married Sarah (Vaughn) Bookout's daughter Lavina was born in St. Clair Co., Alabama and his first wife Lavina Painter was born in Tennessee. I don't know much more about either one of them. I don't even know if James was closely related to his mother-in-law Sarah.
My gg-grandfather Swearengin had a sister Polly who was married to Kenneth Painter.
