Wanting ancestors of Abraham. According to 1880's History of Randolph County, Missouri: 'Cornelius Vaughn was a successful farmer of Randolph County...and is a descendant of the Rt. Hon. Cornelius Vaughn, a distinquished leader in parliaments of the time of James I (1603-1625), and a cousin-germain to that Monarch. During the troublesome times of James II (1685-1688), two of the descendants of Cornelius Vaughn M.P. came to America and settled in Virginia. These were Robert and Cornelius Vaughn. Abraham Vaughn, son of the immigrant Cornelius and the father of Cornelius, our subject, was born and reared in Culpeper County, Virginia and there married Miss Pollie Weaver....' Abraham later moved to Boone Co., KY near Florence, and this is where Cornelius was born in 1811. Cornelius married Pauline Christy in 1835 and they moved to Randolph Co., MO in 1840.

I have seen the postings re Lord Robert Vaughn and sending his three sons to the colonies pre-1776 but haven't been able to link that line with the above. I'm guesstimating that Abraham's father, Cornelius, was possibly born ca 1750. I would also like to know who Lord Robert's wife was.....and how, if true, the Honorable Cornelius Vaughn was a cousin to King James I. Who was this Cornelius' wife?? Who was Abraham's mother???

???

???
Cornelius b. ca 1750(??)
Abraham b. 1772 VA d. 1851 KY m. Polly Weaver
Cornelius b. 1811 KY d. 1888 MO m. Pauline Christy

Thank you.
