I am interested in this autobiography. He is the Uncle of my greatgrandfather, named for him, and a long time resident of Ballston Spa, New York. My greatgrandfather was short in stature, while his uncle was quite tall. This difference gave us the knicknames: "Big Matt" and "Little Matt". I did not know my greatgrandfather, but I well remember his widow, my Greatgrandmother who lived to the ripe old age of 92, quite an accomplishment in those days. Ofcourse all their children were very well known to me.
