I think he was the son of JOHN G. VASSER, b. 1832, d. 1884, Pickens county AL, and his second wife, Elizabeth 'Betty' Nichols. He was a half-brother to my great grandmother, Mary "Molly" Vasser Campbell.

John G. Vasser was a confederate soldier, who served from Monroe county TN in the 62nd TN mounted infantry, and HIS father was JOHN VASSER, b. 1806 in Spartanburg SC, the probable son of George Vasser, b. 1782 in Virginia.

I have tons of information on this bunch.
