Yes, there are lots of spellings for the Levasseur name, and those Dit names are a pain in the neck... The Charles that you mentioned is from a different line, and I am not sure if they are in fact Vasseurs, or Vassier's... The Levassuer family that is my direct line used either Levasseur, Vasseur, Vassaur, or Vassar. They were in fact from Arkansas Post, where an ancestor Stanislas Levasseur was in the Rev. War.
