OBITUARY - JOHN H. VASSAR
Funeral services for John H. Vassar, 75 years old, a retired newspaper stereotyper, who died yesterday at his home, 731 N. 75th St., will be held at 1 o'clock tomorrow in the Green Lake Funeral Home. Burial will be in Washelli. The Rev. J.D. O. Powers will officiate.
Employed by The Post Intelligencer several years after coming to Seattle in 1884, Mr. Vassar retired last year. He was born in Grand Falls, NB. A charter member of the International Stereotypers & Electrotypers' Union, Local 65, Mr. Vasser was a resident of the United States 71 years. Mr. Vassar was the great nephew of Matthew Vassar, founder of Vassar College.
Surviving are a son, J. Arthur Vassar, Mansfield, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Arling, Los Angeles; and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Van Alstyne, Seattle, and Mrs. Kathryne Rubenstein, Chicago.

(Note: Both Green Lake Funeral Home and Washelli Cemetery are in Seattle, Washington.)
