1771 will of JOHN VAULX (Dorchester/Caroline Co. MD)
Posted by: James Voss (ID *****2391) Date: February 17, 2006 at 13:28:12
  of 620

Will of JOHN VAULX (then Dorchester County now Caroline County, MD) made 23 Aug 1771, proved 27 Feb 1775. To son JOHN VAULX, dwelling plantation, 93 acres, part of 2 tracts: "Vaulxes Venter" and "Vaulxes Addition." To son JAMES VAULX, bed that was his grandmother's. To wife SARAH VAULX, executrix, residue during widowhood then equally "among my children." Witnesses: Solomon Causey; Cornelius John son; Daniel Chance. SARAH VAULX widow of JOHN VAULX demands her thirds (this would be her dower share).

He was probably the son of JAMES VAULX of Dorchester whose will was made 24 Jan 1745 and proved 17 Feb 1745. This will left 50 acres of "Vaulx's Adventure" ["Venter" in the above will] to son Ebenezer Vaulx with the remainder of "Vaulx's Adventure" to son JOHN VAULX.
