John Stone, will dated 27 Apr 1695, proved Richmond County, VA 1699. Wife Anne Stone survived her husband and married second Edward Barrow. Anne died 1728. John and Anne Stone had daughter Anne who married Richard Metcalfe and had issue: Mary Metcalfe, Gilbert Metcalfe, Elizabeth Metcalfe, John Metcalfe (d. 1728) and Sarah Metcalfe who married Benjamin Rust of Richmond County. This was second marriage for Rust. Benjamin Rust and Sarah Metcalfe had issue:Richard Rust d/before 1754, John Rust b. 2 Nov 1724 d/bef. 1754, Metcalfe Rust b. 12 Sep 1729, d/bef. 1754, Sarah Rust b. 22 Sep 1731 married John Lowery, and Anne Rust b. 4 Oct 1727, d/bef. 1754 married Vincent Vass by whom issue Sarah Vass (b. 1744) who married Baker Degraffenreid(t). Their issue included Vincent Degraffenreidt (to Charlotte Co. VA). Anne Stone, relict of John, married second Edward Barrow by whom there were issue including a daughter who married a Rust. Richmond Co. will of John Metcalfe (dated 8 Nov 1728, proved 4 Dec 1728) mentions mother Anne Barrow, John and Anne Rust, children of Benjamin. The records of old Rappahannock County (parent county of both Essex and Richmond) note that on 2 Apr 1684, at a Court of Rappahannock County. It did appeare that Vincent Vass was imprest in the Countrys Service with himselfe and horse by order of Col Jno. Stone to bring down Corne and lumber belonging to the Rappa. Indians from their fort to the River side, which service he was imployed nine dayes for satisfaction whereof is refered to the Assembly. This Vincent Vass (ca. 1655-1727) is not the same Vincent that married Anne Rust. Can anyone tell me the relationship between these two Vincent Vasses?
