I have reason to believe that William Varney, born 1608 is part of the Verney family. He was born at Quickswood, Buckinghamshire - a village I couldn't find - until I realized it was not a village but a manor house owned by the Verney family. Is it just a coincidence that someone born with such a similar name should be born in the Verney family manor house if he were not related?

Another persuasive piece of evidence is his journey to Barbados in 1627 or so. Why would he go there? And why remain for 25 years? It turns out the Verney family owned several plantations there. Is it possible he went there to work for the family?

Anybody have any thoughts on this?
