VARNES- WAR of 1812
Posted by: John Varnes (ID *****6159) Date: February 20, 2006 at 11:03:52

Can anybody identify family, place, age, military experience of John Varnes in the Army in the War of 1812 serving in Capt. William McIlvain's company, 14th infantry
(this info from list of soldiers by unit, compiled from discharge certificates)? See www.archives.gov/genealogy/military/1812/soldiers-by-unit.
Was he from Pennsylvania? If so, what county?
Any info would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
John D. Varnes
