I am interested in a John Varnes who married Margaret Arnold in what became Juniata County where one of her sisters was married to Isaac Varnes and another sister was married to John Peter Shitz. Isaac Varnes was the son of Valentine Varnes who from the few records I've seen did not have a son John. A John Varnes was listed in the tax records for Milford Twp. Juniata Co. in the 1830's and then I can't find him anywhere. Margaret and her children were in Milford Twp. in the 1840 census and in 1850 Margaret and some of her children were living with John P. Shitz. Margaret died in 1859, Her children went to Carroll Co. IN....but why?? And who is John??? I think that John and Margaret may have been in Perry Co, after they were married but may have come to Juniata County some time in the 1820's because Isaac and Jane Arnold Varnes and Peter and Ann Arnold Shitz were located there in Milford Twp.
