The research done by John Kerr (Ft. Pierce, FL) shows Conrad
Worntz (Werntz, Wernss, et al) entering America in 1729 at the Port of Philadelphia, and eventually settling in Lancaster Co., PA. Records indicate at least the following
offspring: Barbara; Johann Jacob; and Johann Georg. Iam
descended from Conrad thru his Georg(e),his grandson Valentine (Warntz, Varntz, and other variants), his great grandson Isaac (Varns), his gr. gr.grandson Mitchel H. Varnes, his gr. gr. gr.grandson John Peter Shitz (or Sheets)
Varnes, and my father Henry C. Varnes. I have not run across
any record of the original Conrad having a son of the same name. 'Hope this helps.
Regards.John D. Varnes
