The name JACOB VARNES shows up in indexes to Federal Census
as follows:
1810 North Carolina, Rowan County
1830 Kentucky, Grant County.
Are they the same person? Are they related to my gr. gr. gr.
grandfather Valentine Varnes (Varntz, Warntz, Wentz)b.1759
d.circa 1840, last of Juniata Co., PA? Could he/they be
his brother? His nephew? His cousin? Anybody know anything
about his family, his descendants, where he eventually
settled? Just one more unsolved mystery about the Varnes
family name.'Would appreciate any info and/or insights about
this/these Jacob VARNES. Thanks. John D. Varnes.
