Hi we have family from Hungary also. And for a long time could find nothing.
Have you checked out the LDS-sight (Church of Jesus Christ
of latter day Saints) check your phone book to see if a Church is close to you. They have a great sight online also.
We have also found great things on the Ellis Island sight.
Also check out naturaliztion sight in Ohio.

Try the sounds index not always exact.
Just remember that Varga's often changed their names after arriving. Ours was Varga then changed to Vargo.
