No, I live in Kenosha Wisconsin. There has been a VAn Wie in every war including the American Revolution. In 1851 great great grandfather and his brothers walked from Albany area in New York to Wisconsin. My great grandfather, David, I believe was given 5 acres of land at Silver Lake right outside of Kenosha. The other brothers continue up to Wisconsin Dells. Every one in the civil war received land according to rank. Of course, as fate had it. the VAn Wies at the Dells ended up owning much of the Dells. I told one girl at work this, Mickey just before she quit and moved to the DElls. A year later she wrote back, "You were right, there are VAn Wies all over the place. I work at the North Chicago VA Medical Center right next to Great Lakes Navy Base. There is also a very famous lady golfer by the name of Virginia Van Wie who won the womens PGA in 1931-32-33. One of only five women to every do it. My step grand daughter JIll Sivley is in a Furture Tour CHampionship July 15th so we are keeping our fingers crossed. Jill is the Captain of Rutgers golf team. Will let you know if Gina finds anything. Linda
