Lucy Blancet, age 5, appears in the 1850 census of Marietta, Washington, OH along with Hannah Blancet (21) and Betsey Blancet (7). Also in the home are Melville Corner (age 26) and Lydia Corner (25).
I believe that Lucy Blancet is the mother of Charles Vanwey (1869 or 1870) by the father George Vanwey (1848, OH) who was the son of William Vanwey (1802, NJ). My husband would be the ggrandson of Charles Vanwey.
I do not know why the three Blancets were living with the Corners, and what the relationship was. It could be that Hannah gave birth to Betsey at the age of 14 and Lucy at the age of 16. It is interesting that Charles Vanweys siblings were coincidentally named Melville and Hannah.
Anyone know anything about any of these individuals to help me? THANK YOU!
