Thanks for responding. I am a descendant of John Van Wert b. 1792 and Phebe Allen (definitely the rebel branch) through their son, Horatio Clarke b. 1826 m. Mary E. Travis d/o John and Julia (Mosher) Travis. The genealogy by Irving Van Woert states that he is s/o Isaac and Amy (Bishop) VW but gives no evidence. I suspect he may be s/o Hendrick and Catherine (De Voe) VW. There is a Van Wert/Wart/Woert mailing list with about 50 members, all of whom would appreciate anything you might be willing to share and would be happy to share what they have found.
