I believe I have some of the information you are looking for.I am not a descendant of this family, but I am a Van Vleet and have done extensive research on Van Vleet/Van Vliet/Van Fleet.The below information was found from various sources.Direct descendants may be able to flesh this information out further.I hope this helps.

Son of Jacob & Elisabeth "Betsy" Coulter Van Vleet.Jacob was born 17 Apr 1791 in Schenectady, NY; died 17 Dec 1864 and is buried at the Brooklyn Cemetery, Rockvale (Near Byron), Ogle Co., IL.Betsy was born about 1805 in County Donegal, Ireland.She died before 1880 in IL.They were married 27 Oct 1831 in Medina Co., OH.They lived in Honey Creek, Sauk Co., WI in the 1860 census.
