Does anyone have any general information on the Van Vleck surname? I am led to believe it is a variation of the original name of Vanvlackern, and that this original name has split to: Van Vleck, Van Vlack, Van Vleckern, and Van Vlackern. I have also heard that there were basically 3 original Vanvlackern families that emmigrated to the US originally and that most are offshoots of one of these 3.
