My great-grandmother was Fannie(Frances)E.Graham Ide. She was one of the children of J. H. Graham and Elvira Van Valkenburg. Fannie had two sisters, Flora E. Graham Stripe and Isabel Graham. I had heard about a Frank Mason and Ella Jane Mason, but did not know exactly they fit into the family tree. I had been told that one of their sons was the President of Valparaiso University. I had been told by my great-aunt Lillian Ide White that Fannie Graham was born or grew up in Olney, Richland County, Illinois. I found the Grahams in the 1860 Census in Olney. I don't have my notes with me, but I just could decifer his initials as "J. H." Graham, and wasn't sure about it. My grandparents could never remember if it was "Von" or "Van" or how to spell the Valkenburg. Well Fannie Graham, born Dec. 22, 1856, married Nathan Edward Ide in Lacross, Izard County, Arkansas on Sept. 5, 1876. Later, when Nathan Ide applied for his Civil War pension, they tried to get a copy of their marriage certificate. I found out several years ago that the courthouse had burned down. Well, the Ide's moved around the country: Chico, Texas; Ava, Missouri; Big Sandy, Roane County, West Va., Holmes County, Florida, near Black, AL, and finally settling in the Civil War veterans' town of St. Cloud, Fl. Fannie and her husband and Flora Graham Stripe are buried in the Mt. Peace Cemetery, east of town. Fannie died February 17, 1936. Mr. and Mrs. Ide had nine children of whom I knew four of them.
