What We Know To Date

Just beginning to gather information on the family. This is all we know at this time:

Born approximately 1832, Heinrich Wilhelm Von Twistern arrived in the United States sometime in the mid 1800's. Listed as living in New York City as Henry William VanTwistern per 1870 Census Records. According to family stories, Henry was an engineer working on one of the first elevated railways in New York City.

Married: ???
Children: Anne, Etta, Henry, Louise, Mary, and Richard Alexander

Richard Alexander VanTwistern was born in 1880 and died 1953 in the United States. For many years he worked for the Parks Dept. of New York City.

Married: Magdalene Dornsief
Children: Mary Ann Louise, Florence Catherine, Eleanor Marie, Henry (Harry) William

Harry William VanTwistern was Born 1906 and died in 1988. Graduated from Brooklyn PolyTech with a Degree in Electrical Engineering and first worked for Bell Telephone Co. in Newark, NJ. Later he worked for Tung-Sol Corp. in Newark, NJ., Potter Electronics on Long Island, NY and then retired.

Married: Gertrude Bertha Anna Jaeger
Children: Richard John, and William Arthur

Any information on Heinrich Wilhelm (Henry William), the Children and/or decendents of Henry William, or Richard Alexander would be appreciated.
