I have seen the "Lake" name associated to this Maria, as well, but haven't found any records to verify that. Thanx.

If you are just starting on your Van Sickles, you might consider tracking down a copy of John Waddell Van Sickle's book on the Descendants of Ferdinandus Van Sycklin. I have a copy of it, and it makes a good starter. Citations are lacking in his book, but references to dates and locations often make searching for records somewhat easier. It was notations in his book that led me to the records necessary to identify and prove the Canadian Van Siclen/Eastling line. The book was published in 1880, and a copy of it is on microfilm at the LDS library.
