There is ample documentation to establish the lineage, and references to same are readily found on this forum. Check it out. Additionally, It would indeed be rare to find ANY Van Sicklen, Van Siclen, Van Sickle, etc, in America that does not descend from Ferdinandus Van Sycklin. The immigrant ancestor is known, and the line from him through Maria Van Siclen Eastling is very clear, well documented, and PROVEN. Mistakes on a DAR application do not make this line less proven, nor does your insistence that REAL evidence be overlooked in favor of unsubstantiated family affadavits. Family folklore is a poor substitute for for original source documents found through serious research.
