Dear Mr. Guzman,

Yours is directed to Ms. Ewins and I will leave it to her to answer--should she decide it might be useful to do so.

But, I want to note that somehow, despite the undulating mass of flotsam and jetsam in your misguided genetic scientology, you have, through no fault of your own, managed upon a truth. That is, that Johannes Van Siclen and Gertrude Lott did have a [previously undocumented] son Cornelius Van Siclen.

Unfortunately for your theory, nascent and happenstance though it may be, this Cornelius married Catherine Boerum, not Catherine Johnson, and removed from Kings County, Long Island, New York to Hempstead, Queens County (later Nassau County), Long Island.

I am a descendant of Johannes Van Siclen and Gertrude Lott, through their son Abraham Van Siclen, husband of Cornelia Cornell, of New Lots, Kings County, Long Island.

This Johannes Van Siclen is the brother of your ancestor Cornelius Van Sic[k]len.

Given your, shall we say, astounding insight on the undocumented son Cornelius--of Johannes VS and Gertrude Lott--one cannot help but feel that if you could only get both oars in the water, you might make real progress in your research.

Those of us on dry land watch you circling and hope for the best...
