George VanSickle died in the Civil War 2/27/1865

George VanSickle, a Civil War soldier, died at Saterlee US Army Hospital in Philadephia, PA on 2/27/1865 and was originally buried in Philadelphia (and may still be there). The mystery is why did someone (probably his family) apply for a military tombstone for him to be delivered to Metuchen, New Jersey? Was he removed (as happened often) to the Metuchen area and if so to which cemetery? If the stone was to be used as a cenotaph then which cemetery is it in?
