I have never heard of any VS in Ireland. That, of course, doesn't mean that somebody didn't go there. I do suggest that you search the book, The Van Sickle Family in America by JW Van Sickle, published 1880 just in case. It is not indexed, but it is fairly authoritative (although some were inadvertently omitted.)

I will also ask my dad, who has been doing research for almost 45 years...
