From Gusman - This posting is directed to the attention of both Van Curen and Mr. McCool who has stated that he agrees completely with assessments of Mr. Van Curen.
Quoting Mr. McCool Aug 18 #672 (And please forgive me fellow VS researchers) What is wrong with you? The language you use is sooooo very inappropriate that I am at a loss.
Can you not give way to a reasoned, temperate and scientific discussion?
It happens that I agree completely with the assessments of Mr. Van Curen on your [corrected] ancestry, but that does not mean that you and I, and and the other interested parties who may be reading our messages, cannot enjoy a full and frank discussion of the issues.
However, I cannot see myself engaged in a shouting match--particularly one that uses such abusive language. Unquote
Gusman - If Mr. McCool had been specific about what he believed was objectionable in my August 16 post #663 perhaps I could offer an explanation or if needs be an apology for writing something that he found to be offensive. As it now stands, I havent the slightest idea what the problem is. Not a single word is obscene, an invective or vulgar. my comments directly address issues of Van Curen. Issues with which I do not agree. There are no ambiguous subtleties in the posting.
Quoting my post of Aug 16 #663 - Hang it up Van Curen - it's all over.
Even after I quoted the Law dictionary to you last year about what the legal responsibilities of a Notary and the emphasis that Courts place on notarized records you can't seem to grasp the significance of notarized documents.
The posting about value of sources placed "Notarized" in the Primary Source. Nothing more needs to be said about the Eastling records because they are notarized. You say the deponents lied under oath - then prove they lied!.
Van Curen my strongest recommendation to you is to drop the Maria Van Curen subject in it's entirety.
I am going to answer your second posting on August 15th and then I will terminate these asinine discussions.
I have rethought R. McCool's suggestion about backing off and have decided it is excellent advice. I have posted enough rebuttals to alert anyone to the fact that the Van Sicklen/Eastling connection in the Van Sicklen genealogy is fraudulent and based on your tampering with Maria Van Siclen's name, her marriage date and number of children birthed by Maria Van Siclen.
Your allegations that Hannah Lossing metamorphosed into an Annette/Hannah Lawson are unbelievably absurd. That happens with the progenitors of butterflies but not genuine human beings.
Your admission of altering Maria Van Sickle's marriage date, considering that the Notary certification is evidentiary proof acceptable in any Court that he copied the date recorded in the Bible exactly as written, is self evident proof that you do not have integrity required by a qualified researcher and also demonstrated your unmitigated willingness to falsify records in a manner to support your fancied, imagined suppositions.
I will leave now and hope never again to encounter genealogy researchers who vomit trash like you do. Unquote.
Left to my own selection I would guess that it was one or more of the following words. Lied asinine birthed metamorphosed absurd - progenitors of butterflies unmitigated vomit.
None of the designated words are vulgar, invectives or obscene. Where then is the problem? I will guess that it could be either the inclusion of - asinine or vomit, perhaps both. Vomit is a relatively innocuous word, in every day use by children, parents and medical personnel. It describes the violent ejection of stomach contents, nothing more.
Asinine was derived from the word ass, an animal having qualities such as obstinate, stupid,. a silly person or fool. Asinine is not obscene, vulgar or an invective. The word ass (the animal from which asinine is derived) appears in at least 50 verses of the bible beginning with Genesis 22:3 and is defined in the dictionary as Any of a genus (Equus) of animals resembling horses but having longer ears and a shorter mane, as the common wild ass (Equus asinus) of Africa: donkeys and burros are domesticated asses.
Me thinks Mr. McCools objections are much to do about nothing. The word asinine was incorrectly spelled as assinine. Perhaps that is what Mr. McCool found objectionable. The forum does not provide a spell checker and the post was hurriedly drafted and sent. Consequently, to the extent that I inadvertently allowed a misspelled word to appear in the posting, I do apologize. I do not apologize for the intended use of the correctly spelled word, the meaning of which includes nothing more than the multiple adjectives obstinate, stupid,. a silly person or fool all wrapped into the single word asinine.
If it is the misspelling that was objectionable I submit as a counter balance the word assessment a word beginning with those three self perceived naughty letters and used by Mr. McCool in his post.
Perhaps in the future, attempted censorship of posts to this forum should be left in the capable hands of the Web Master of the forum. Millions of people have access to this forum and I feel certain that each one of those millions is a potential censor. So let us leave censorship in the capable hands of the Web Master of the forum and submit our complaints about the contents of various posts to the Web Master for his resolution. Ok? nough said!
