JOHN and brother JACOB MISENER emigrated to Canada in 1790 and settled in the settlement now known as the Jersey Settlement. His brother NICHOLAS MISENER and wife JANE MCLAIN emigrated to Canada from N.J. in 1793. He obtained land rights beside brother JOHN and when JOHN moved to the Long Point country NICHOLAS bought the land. This land remianed in the MISENER family until 1963. Their son CONRAD and wife ELIZABETH WELLS married in 1833 and moved to TROY. He bought 100 acres and donated two acres to the community for a church site and cemetery. Their son GEORGE married ESTHER VANSICKLE.
